crazy changes

So this past week has been really good, but super crazy.

The good news is that S got baptized. It was such an awesome experience to watch her get baptized after all this time. She has been through so many changes in her life to get her to this point. When I got to Las Colinas, she didn’t want to have anything to do with baptism. She liked to go to church, that was about it. She didn’t have a strong desire to keep the commandments or change her life. But after a lot of time, she started to turn her life around and understand the importance of baptism. She had a mighty change of heart. It’s these kind of moments that makes all the hard days worth it. The mission is awesome.

So on Monday I had a pretty crazy experience!!!

It started out just a normal p-day – get up, study and then we decided to rest. After resting for a while we decided to clean the house. As we were in the middle of cleaning, we got a call from the AP at about 2:30. He said, “Hey, Elder Wagstaff, how are you doing?””Really good.””Awesome, you have emergency changes and you need to pack your bags in 30 min.””Are you serious?””Ya, we will see you in a little bit.”

I started to freak out. All of my stuff was a mess because we were in the middle of cleaning. I threw everything into my bags as fast as I could. It was such a crazy moment. It turns out that he didn’t come to pick me up until about 6:30. But during this time I was thinking, “What did I do wrong to have emergency changes. I don’t feel like I have done anything wrong.” But when they showed up there were a few more kids in the car. One of them was Scheffler and they told Scheffler that he was the new DL of Las Colinas. So that was really awesome.

As we were driving around to send people to their new areas, the APs told me that I was going to Bluefields, the farthest area away in the mission. He told me that we would have to wake up at 12:30 in the morning to take a plane there. So as I was waiting in the Secretary and APs house for a while, they finally told me, “Elder Wagstaff, we have something to tell you. You are going to be the new secretary.” I had no idea what to think. It was such a crazy moment.

So it’s been a really good week, but super crazy. And now my p-days are on Wednesday.

Love you all,

Elder Wagstaff
