Mexico Missionary Training Center
- July 23, 2014 to September 1, 2014
The Mexico Missionary Training Center was established in 1979 in Campestre Churubusco in Mexico City, with missionaries receiving their training through the Churubusco stake.
In 1983, missionaries began residing and training at the temple complex in Mexico, using space in the Aragon stake center until November 28, 2006, when the old Aragon stake center was rededicated as the missionary training center building.
In July 2013, the Mexico City MTC moved to a 90-acre campus that recently housed a private Church high school, the Benemerito de las Americas. At the MTC’s old location, around 125 missionaries were trained at a time, most from Mexico and Central America.
The new location can accommodate over 1,000 missionaries, the second largest of all MTCs in the world. In addition to Mexico, the MTC serves select missions in North, Central and South America, all Spanish-speaking. The new MTC facility has classrooms, 50 homes and two large dormitories that house missionaries. It also includes kitchen, dining and exercise areas.
There are additional MTCs located in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Dominican Republic, England, Ghana, Guatemala, New Zealand, Peru, Phillipines, South Africa, Spain, and Utah.
