This past week has been really great, but has been a lot of hard work. Today was changes so this week we have been scrambling to get everything done and ready to go.
Yesterday I spent a good amount of time at President’s house with all the new missionaries that came in. I was a translator for the new missionaries yesterday and that was a very new experience because there are words that I know in Spanish, but I don’t know how to describe it in English. It can be so tiring. After that we went to the office to make the final preparations for changes. We ended up leaving the office at about 1 in the morning to head back home and get a little bit of sleep. Woke up this morning and finished things up for changes and I feel like the change meeting was a success. After that I did some more translating and now we are back to the office. I am so tired, but it’s all part of the experience.
This past week we had a baptismal service and it was really awesome (to) remember the importance of baptism and to see our investigators progress. I know that our Savior lives and loves us. I know that if we are obedient we will receive a lot of blessing. I know that missionary work really does change the lives of others.
I love you all and hope you all have a great week.
So also this week we had a little problem filling up the baptismal font. On Saturday morning as I was running a few errands with one of the APs, I got a call from my comps saying that we had a problem with the water for the baptismal font. They explained that the power was out, which meant that the pump had no power. That meant that the font had to be filled by hand. I got to the church toward the end of the project, but my comps did a lot of hard work to make sure that there was water for later that day. All part of the mission.
- Are you able to sleep well at night or is it too hot? I SLEEP VERY WELL!!! The other night my comp was praying out loud and fell asleep praying out loud. haha
- How is your stomach doing? Have you been sick at all? I feel like I’m doing really well.
- How does desire and attitude affect your work? What do you think? I was talking with one of my comps early this week and we were talking about the importance of your attitude out here. Especially here in the office because you can look at it two different ways. One, this stinks, I don’t get to go work out in the field very much, I’m always tired, this is boring…Or you can look at it as an awesome positive experience that you can learn so much from. That will bring blessing now and for your entire life. So attitude is such a huge factor. The office is really good. It’s really different, but really good.
